To become the country’s largest and most trusted food recovery and redistribution network — operating across all 36 states and directly reaching and rescuing over 50 million Nigerians from hunger and food insecurity over a period of 10 years.
Reduce food waste, feed communities, and empower local food ecosystems.
Foodsurplus Nigeria is a revolutionary foodstuff supply chain platform connecting farmers, processors, wholesalers, and neighborhood consumers through a reliable, affordable, and fast distribution network. We are on a mission to ensure that every household—no matter the income level—has access to quality food at fair prices.
With a deep understanding of Nigeria’s food supply gaps and retail needs, FOODSURPLUS is bridging the disconnect between surplus production and urban demand. Our network of local stockists, warehouse partners, delivery agents, and neighborhood shop owners ensures no community is left behind in the journey to food security.
Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Foodsurplus Nigeria.
Chibuogwu Benson-Oraelosi is a visionary entrepreneur and humanitarian with over two decades of experience in food retail and community-based economic empowerment. Her journey began in 2006 with the launch of Convenient Foodmart — the first one-stop shop in Nigeria dedicated solely to foodstuffs.
Rather than building for personal profit, she created a model that fosters shared prosperity — benefiting farmers, producers, shop owners, and consumers alike.
With degrees in Accountancy, Supply Chain, and a PhD in Logistics (in view), her expertise drives our mission.
Today, FOODSURPLUS is a trusted platform cutting food costs, reducing waste, and feeding Nigerian families—one package at a time.
